Job description

The Inventory Clerk reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for cycle counts and physical inventory as needed. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Verify UPC codes on product
• Print Bin Tags
• Office maintenance
• Filing & data entry
• Monitor shrinkage and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage in the store
• Analytical ability to investigate reasons inventory counts are off
• Familiarity with store accounting and/or a willingness to be trained on how to access and understand reports needed for inventory management
• Monitoring Four Foot Section Reports
• Assist with creation of SKU's
• Implement location codes and cycle counting
• Ability to interface with book keeping, cashiers and sales floor staff and coach people to keep inventory accurate.
• Detail oriented person who enjoys working with numbers
• Set a positive example by following company procedures and positive communication
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Participate in all store training
• Answer telephones (before third ring) and direct calls appropriately
• Be alert for shoplifting activity
• Commitment to and pride in a job well done
• Focus on the needs of others, which includes cooperation with team members, helpfulness, responsiveness and service orientation
• Strong work ethic including integrity and willingness to work hard
• All other duties as needed.
