Austin Commercial has an outstanding opportunity for an Insurance Risk Analyst at our headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The Insurance Risk Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Insurance Program Manager with the timely and accurate collection, review, processing, and analyzation of Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) prequalification information. The position provides direct support to project team members and requires the ability to interact with multiple individuals across different roles at any given time, including Project Managers, Field Office Managers, Estimators, Preconstruction Managers, and Subcontract Administrators.

Essential Functions

  • Interact with subcontractors and collect prequalification documents for annual subcontractor renewals
  • Analyze and interpret confidential subcontractor information and financial statements to develop single and aggregate project limits
  • Work with underwriter to understand any underlying prequalification risks specific to a certain subcontractor
  • Communicate underwriting results with project team members
  • Update and maintain the subcontractor prequalification tracking log during subcontractor prequalification
  • Update and maintain internal online subcontractor database
  • Update and maintain weekly risk management prequalification reports
  • Develop Risk Mitigation Plans for subcontractors and distribute internally to Risk Management, project team members, and Subcontract Administrators, as necessary
  • Organize and maintain all confidential documents gathered for subcontractor prequalification
  • Assist with subcontractor claim preparation and completion of the loss summary
  • Update and maintain subcontractor claims log to be discussed quarterly with broker and SDI Carrier
  • Assist with the compilation, organization, and presentation of data required for SDI policy renewal
  • Maintain thorough understanding of SDI policy
  • Assist with the distribution of Builder’s Risk Insurance applications and communicate results to Estimators and project team members
  • Provide accurate and timely information to brokers for quarterly project SDI enrollment
  • Assist with the development and presentation of insurance training to applicable company divisions and project teams
  • Maintain full confidentiality of subcontractor’s submitted prequalification documentation
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Accounting, Risk Management, Finance, Economics or Insurance, or in lieu of a college degree, 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have knowledge of financial statements and key financial liquidity ratios
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
  • Must be able to provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and with multiple individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Finance, Credit Underwriting, and/or Risk Management
  • Demonstrated experience with a Contractor, Broker, or Insurance Company preferred, but not required
  • CRIS Insurance designation preferred, but not required
  • Minimal expectation to travel: 0 - 5%
