Optim Health System is seeking a full time Insurance Follow-up Billing Lead for our Savannah location.
Job Description:
- Obtains and maintains billing and policy manuals for all managed care contacts.
- Manages and oversees insurance department employees.
- Updates all insurance policy and procedure changes as they pertain to the insurance department.
- Reviews accounts receivable regularly and makes needed adjustments in how they are to be worked.
- Trains new insurance department employees
- Sorts and distributes mail pertaining to insurance department
- Adds and updates insurance file maintenance
- Evaluates and gives instruction to department employees.
- Informs department employees or organizational changes
- Creates and maintains various forms
- Assists with new and established employee training and testing
- Sets up payment plans for surgical patients without insurance
- Negotiates settlements on accounts with attorneys and insurance companies
- Makes necessary adjustments on accounts with attorneys and insurance companies
- Reviews collection notes from other work done by department employees
- Completes any other tasks assigned by the management
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Performs all other assigned duties related to your essential functions.
