The Inside Sales Specialist, Service Sales is responsible for coordinating the flow of customer service sales support and to provide advice to the sales force to resolve service sales requests regarding warranty, O&M, spare parts requests, etc. Must be familiar with a variety of the SMA Sales concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Will be required to have customer interaction while answering customer inquiries, making outbound sales calls, coordinating customer needs with the outside service sales team, customer visits and meetings. Duties will include supporting renewable energy service deals across the US and will be fully immersed in both commercial and utility scale assets.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and coordinates with the SMA customer relations group to answer inquiries for all service sales orders in Canada, and the US..
  • Qualify inbound inquiries and identify time-sensitive leads. Generate new leads through outbound customer-outreach through Campaigns and Customer Targeting.
  • Assist in the quotation of Core Service and Spare Parts through Salesforce.
  • Lead the planning, identification, proposal generation, and qualification of opportunities that management has approved to submit proposals.
  • Provide research assistance specific to proposals in process, capture efforts in process, and request for information and/or sources sought notices in process as requested by Sales Managers.
  • Account Support: Create, analyze, and manage project timelines, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Organize, Plan, prepare, and coordinate sales meetings: sales materials, and customer deliverables.
  • Place outbound sales calls to revitalize dormant accounts and generate new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned.

Required Training (Type / Duration / Field / Additional Training)

  • An associate degree is required. A bachelor’s degree in marketing or business is preferred.

Required Relevant Professional Experience (Type / Duration)

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in an Inside Sales role are required (Internship with SMA of a minimum of 6 months can fulfill work experience).
  • Prior experience in sales administration and/or customer service is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is strongly preferred.

Other Specialized Skills

  • Knowledge of solar energy industry and/or sales administration for a consumer product company.
  • Knowledge of SAP software systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
