Job Description

We seek a Mechanical Engineer to work on Industrial Automation projects with experience leading and delivering similar engagements in related industries. Candidates need to be self-sufficient and proactive leaders who are intimate with the tools of the trade (Project Management Software /Visio).

This role requires a self-motivated, ‘Hands-on’ person who can function as the lead of a cross-functional internal team consisting of client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Field or Operations resources, Functional leaders (based in Germany) and Vendor resources.

Candidates must be a US citizen or have a Green Card.

Required Skills

· Experienced with Industrial Automation Machines and in Plastic Manufacturing

· Passionate about engineering design and taking pride in MA’s machines to provide customers with minimal downtime and best-in-class performance

· Strong technical skills pertaining to precision manufacturing automation, including: Mechanical alignment (µm level); Certified calibration (temperature and pressure); System failure mode analysis and preventive maintenance

· Comfortable with all aspects of machine engineering, including a general knowledge of PLC and electrical systems

· Skilled and insightful at troubleshooting with a ‘can-do’ attitude

· Meticulous at documentation Project Management tools, Proposals / technical documents and GMP documentation

· Comfortable presenting to and educating customers about technically complex Industrial Automation concepts

· 'Hands On' and comfortable working on the machine together with Mechanical Assembly Technicians

· Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communication with the customer, team members and other parties.

· High level of commitment, resilience and flexibility

· Proven ability to work with customers and colleagues across multiple time zones and countries

· Basic level of SCADA, PLC or Industrial Automation experience (Preferred)

· Experience in predictive maintenance projects is an advantage

· Willingness to travel worldwide is an advantage

Additional duties include:

· Ensure Team’s adherence to quality and safety standards

· Consistent and proactive management of timelines and deliverables

· Manage vendor integration within program scope

· Develop detailed work plans, financial estimates, schedules, and status reports

· Manage technical/functional/business requirements

· Prepare technical proposals and offer expertise / guidance to client and vendor(s)

· Influence stakeholders, clients, and vendors in support of the project plan and assigned resources

· Make periodic leadership presentations

· Identifies program risks and develops mitigation plans for each risk

· Develop recommendations and implement solutions

· Recommends best practices

Required Qualifications

· More than 5 years experience in Industrial Automation Equipment preferably in the Medical Device industry

· Technical Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

License/Certification:

  • training / certification in Mechanical Design of Machinery (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:
