Job description
Packers are responsible for cleaning packaging materials, packing products in the correct packages and insure that all products are accurate in weight. Sealing products properly to get them ready to go out to the store floor. They must be able to use a sealer. Packers must keep a clean work area and observe all company safety standards.
As one of the final checkpoints between buyer and manufacturer, Packers perform several important functions. The packer must determine if products are not defective. Any defective items must be discarded according to company procedures. Packers must be thorough in their work. Attention to detail is key.
Packer Responsibilities:
- Pack, weigh, and label items.
- Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging.
- Identify and dispose of defective items.
- Properly use packaging materials.
- Keep complete records of all items packed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
Packager Requirements:
- High School Diploma/ GED.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
