The Institutional Credit Management (ICM) group is looking for a full-time lead/senior analyst to join its Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) function. ICM has been established with the objective to provide an integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise. The Data Quality Remediation and Insights organization within ICM is responsible for driving a data architecture in order to deliver front to back design, identify gaps, and implement a robust control framework across ICG Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) universe with a specific focus on counterparty credit risk. A key focus is on Data Quality including ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness across data flows and alignment with Citi’s overall data strategy. The Data group will also build a sustainable framework to perform intelligent analytics and mining data to identity patterns and correlations among data sets and quality metrics which can be transformed into actionable insights for the respective stakeholders including senior management, business, independent risk and operations functions.

The group is responsible for extensive partnering across all relevant businesses within ICG and Independent Risk to drive key initiatives and associated deliverables for the data strategy and manage change with the right governance framework. The function and role spans the counterparty credit risk group within the ICG organization and, as a result, requires strong engagement with relevant teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive data analysis and visualization for key data programs across asset classes
  • Support downstream consumption plans with back office technology partners to ensure completeness and consistency throughout data flows
  • Synthesize data into meaningful information to support decision making
  • Detect data anomalies and identify source of data problems. Recommend data quality solutions.
  • Conduct data-driven analyses and reports; apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods; prepare statistical and non-statistical data exploration
  • Assist with creation of senior management level presentations to communicate programs and month over month progress
  • Gather, validate, and analyze large complex information sets; understand the meaning of the data and how it applies to various stakeholders; identify and trouble-shoot / problem solve issues with data or results
  • Act as a change agent to implement best practices and ensure transparency and consistency across teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in fields such as: data science, data engineering, data mining, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative discipline
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience including data analytics
  • Data tracing, visualization, analysis – identifying patterns/trends, exploratory data analysis, root cause analysis, Machine learning & predictive analytics
  • Knowledge and experience of statistical and data mining and machine learning algorithms such as regression, correlation, decision trees, clustering, pattern recognition, hypothesis testing, statistical techniques and dimensionality reduction
  • Proficiency in data visualization and scripting/programming languages (Python, R, SQL, VBA scripting or other like programming languages is desired)
  • Experience working with visualizing tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Pivots/Advanced Excel
  • Data and Results oriented with an excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with complex data sets and distill issues and patterns from seemingly disparate data sets
  • Critical and lateral thinker with ability to formulate overall picture while diving in-depth details of data points and issues
  • Fast learner with strong problem solving and quantitative skillset
  • Highly motivated self-starter with roll-up sleeves attitude to get things done
  • Experience in interacting across multiple teams
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering results quickly and efficiently.
  • Exceptional level of motivation and diligence coupled with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), as well as strong relationship building skills
  • Highly analytical individual with the ability to work independently and as a team player needed and exemplary documentation skills
  • Ability to focus on high quality work while under pressure
