Summary/Purpose:
The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes safety, empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The direct scope of this position includes the HR, EHS, and Training functions along with the planning and execution of strategic HR direction of the plant. Develop policies and implements programs and procedures pertaining to the planning of human resources, recruiting, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, environmental, health & safety, and associate relations.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Serves as coach for leadership team to foster a culture of respect, continuous improvement, and employee participation for all associates.
  • Manages employee relations to ensure the highest level of employee engagement.
  • Oversees the administration of all employee health and safety programs.
  • Consults with Corporate HR and legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state laws.
  • Makes recommendations, evaluates, and implements the organizations policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains human resource system (Payroll and HRIS) to meet top managements information needs.
  • Performs and constructs wage and salary evaluations. Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine recommendations for competitive compensation plan.
  • Coordinates associate relations programs for organizational effectiveness.
  • Recruits for all positions (both hourly, salary, manufacturing, technical and professional)
  • Assist management in labor relations, employee counseling and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain and manage Human Resources department for Richland facility.
  • Oversees payroll processing for all associates.
  • Evaluate and implement wage and salary administration program for hourly & salary associates.
  • Coordinates Safety Environmental Program and Workers Compensation with the Corporate Safety Department
  • Develop effective HR team ensuring direct reports continue to grow and develop.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position supervises the HR team.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Qualified candidates will have a BS or BA in Human Resources Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing. Automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
SHRM certification a plus

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in HR or business with 5 years’ experience and at least 3 years leading an HR function.

  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
