San Luis Valley Health is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner. In line with the organization’s vision, mission, values, this role is responsible for providing support to the HR team, leadership, staff and community members in activities that provide career opportunities, job security, quality benefits, engagement and satisfaction. HR serves as a trusted advisor and partner to our staff and leadership, strategic partner to the senior team, change agent, subject-matter expert on HR regulations, and employee champion.

What You'll Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • At least 5 years experience working in a professional office setting.
  • HR Certification preferred (must be obtained within 3 years from start).
  • Management/ Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate competency with technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, internet, Sharepoint, social media, and basic office equipment.
  • Positive and customer service-oriented persona and attitude.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to complex applications and situations.
  • Interested in advancing HR knowledge with ongoing learning and development (requiring employee to attend various training courses).

Focused Responsibilities:
  • Applies multi-faceted training and knowledge to perform functions of all areas of the department's day-to-day operations. Position will have specialized focus in certain areas but may need to manage and float between various tasks to support the Director, staff and leadership needs.
  • Manage employee benefits, including retirement plan.
  • Partners with operation leaders to strategically support recruiting, retention, compensation, development, and performance management efforts
  • Supports leaders in developing educational onboarding and competency checklists.
  • Leverages the HRIS system to streamline and automate core HR processes.
  • Develops templates in HRIS system to streamline data and functions (i.e., appraisals, stay interviews, scheduling software)
  • Manages PDSA (process improvement) projects for team.
  • Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
  • Attend meetings as required and participates on identified committees.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of department.
