TITLE:
HR Specialist (hired through EduStaff)

LOCATION: Central Administration

SUPERVISOR: Superintendent & HR Coordinator


JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the HR Specialist is to serve as the lead on specific projects that require prior experience in Human Resources and/or relative field


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENC:

REQUIRED

  • Associates Degree in Business or Accounting
  • Two (2) years of Payroll & Benefits processing experience
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources experience
  • Proven ability to meet the challenges of an urban-rural, multi-racial, and multi-ethnic school district

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting
  • School payroll experience


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This postion is primarily responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assisting with audit preparation
  • Serving as the secondary contact person for communication with benefit vendors
  • Reconcile insurance billing
  • Managing insurance benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations for the district
  • Managing all payroll and benefit compliance-related reporting
  • Assisting with Skyward to Qmalativ migration
  • Providing administrative support to the current HR staff

FUNDING SOURCE:

If this position is funded using Title dollars, federal regulations do not allow a promise of employment beyond the current year of allocated funds. If this position is funded using state program dollars, the district is not obligated to fund the position beyond the current year’s allocation. This position, at any time, maybe dissolved based on funding availability and data collected from a comprehensive needs assessment.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Temporary Hourly Employee ($15 - $30 per hour) - Salary based on education and experience pursuant to the Benton Harbor Area School Board policies and collective bargaining agreement, if applicable
