SUMMARY:
This position manages the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. The H.R. Generalist carries out responsibilities in various areas including, but not limited to: benefits, compensation, and employment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Prepares reports in conformance with organizational needs.
· Participates in orientation for new hires and conducts H.R.-related training as needed.
· Maintains data within government guidelines regarding equal opportunity provisions (i.e., EEOC, Applicant flow and Headcount on a regular basis).
· Completes various H.R. projects in a timely manner.
· Backs up all other H.R. positions as needed.
· Additional responsibilities as requested or required.
· Attends all company-required meetings.
CONTRIBUTES TO H.R.-RELATED DUTIES IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Compensation:
· Reviews/ApprovesPerformance Appraisals.
· Prepare and maintain company pay plans.
· Assists in annual salary survey activities.
· Assists employees, supervisors, and managers, with compensation policy interpretation, issues, and problems.
· Reviews, Approves Employee Reviews submitted by Managers; works with Managers on merit increases.
· Reviews, updates, and develops job descriptions as required.
Employee Relations:
· Counsels and advises management and other employees on employee relations issues.
· Stays up-to-date on policies and programs and can answer employee questions as they arise.
· Works closely with Sr. management and department managers to establish and control headcount levels.
Benefits/Leave:
· Manages enrollment of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, etc.
· Review insurance carrier invoices and process for payment.
· Assists employees, supervisors, and managers in benefit, policy, and procedure interpretations and helps with benefit-related issues/problems.
· Prepare and process all benefits enrollments and terminations.
· Manages time off programs, including Worker's Comp, FMLA, S.T.D, L.T.D. and L.O.A.
· Conduct or assist in an accident, incident, near miss, and other investigations/follow-up activities related to customer/employee injuries
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
· Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
· Must have excellent customer service and co=Wlication skills, both verbal and written.
· 3-5 years progressive H.R. experience.
· Ability to influence, consult and negotiate.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to handle and balance multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment and meet required deadlines.
· Ability to understand, communicate, and interpret company policies.
· Knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and Training & Development
EDUCATION:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
· H.R. Certification PHR/SPHR/SHR/l.1-CP/S.H.R./l.1-SCP a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
