Patriot Rehab & Wellness Center is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager for our northeast facility. The is Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department to a high standard of cleanliness, observing all guidelines regarding infection and local standards while assuring the highest degree of quality patient and visitor care is maintained at all times. The Housekeeping Manager ensures a clean and safe environment for all residents and visitors. Also responsible for staffing, scheduling, training and developing the staff.

POSITION SUMMARY

The job incorporates a considerable use of the latest cleaning equipment, demanding the professionals to be familiar with their operating techniques. The duty extends to the maintenance and stocking of equipment supplies and reporting of the need for repairs and replacement materials.

Some of the typical responsibilities include sweeping, vacuum cleaning, washing, polishing, and dusting as appropriate apart from the laundry duties such as washing, sluicing, drying, ironing, sorting, and folding of clothes. Supervise housekeeping and laundry employees, set schedules for department team.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, lounges, corridors, hallways, stairways, and other work spaces of the organization while keeping the prescribed health and hygiene standards
  • Ensure perfect working of the tools and equipment employed to execute high quality work
  • Replenish food supplies, restroom equipment, bed linens, kitchen items, room accessories, and writing supplies
  • Make beds and change bed sheets twice a day besides providing laundry services
  • Use squeegees, cleaners, and other equipment to dust, clean, and polish window panes and glasses, mirrors, glass partitions, walls, furniture’s, house items, fixtures, mattresses, etc.
  • Monitor the security of customers' belongings and safety of the delegated areas by sincerely conducting the regular checks. Besides, reporting found articles, thefts, including construction and electrical damages
  • Report to the supervisors and promptly respond to the housekeeping needs
  • Ensure superior housekeeping standards in all customer areas including the back of house spaces.
  • Supervise Housekeeping and Laundry employees.
  • Make sure supplies is up to date
  • Order facility supplies

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Though no formal education is required, established hotels and hospitals may prefer candidates with at least a high school education
  • On-the-job training or minimum work experience is a plus
  • 2 Year Management Experience
  • Housekeeping Laundry experience preferred

  • Able to communicate politely and professionally with the customers
  • Physically fit as the job involves a lot of manual labor work

WORKING CONDITIONS

CATEGORY II

Position is Category II of Potential Exposure, which includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but may require performing unplanned Category I tasks (expected exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues). OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standard 1910.1030(c)(2)(i) more specifically defines Category II Potential Exposure as: Normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues but exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment.

  • Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be readily available to employees engaging in Category II tasks.
  • Work is generally performed in an indoor, well-lighted, well-ventilated, heated and air- conditioned environment.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions by staff, residents, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Subject occasionally to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
