We are seeking individuals who find pride in providing a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for Wesbury residents, staff, and visitors. Housekeeping staff follows all department policies and procedures for all cleaning activities in accordance with all infection control guidelines. The atmosphere of the department is teamwork-driven and friendly. We are looking for candidates with integrity and attention to detail. Wesbury Housekeeping Staff provided with a monthly schedule, every other weekend off, three paid holidays per year, and their wage based on experience.
Pay rate $10 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform all housekeeping activities in a manner that provides a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents, their families, visitors, and staff. Housekeeper will follow all department policies and procedures for all cleaning activities in accordance with all infection control guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Please number)
1. Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined for housekeeping department.
2. Clean resident rooms daily following housekeeping policies and procedures.
3. Clean bathroom (resident): clean/disinfect sink, toilet, shower/tub. Clean mirror. Dust mop and wet mop floor. Replenish toilet paper and paper towels.
4. Clean room (resident): clean and disinfect bed rails, tray table, night stand, wardrobe, side chairs, dresser, and chest of drawers. Dust mop and wet mop floor.
5. Clean all horizontal surfaces daily or as needed.
6. Wash windows as needed.
7. Spot clean walls.
8. Remove cubicle curtain for laundering and hang clean curtain as needed and as outlined in policy/procedure.
9. Collect trash from bathroom and resident room daily and transport to compactor.
10. Collect infectious waste and transport to biohazard storage room.
11. Clean/disinfect trash cans as needed.
12. Clean air vents.
13. Report any maintenance issues to manager and nursing.
14. Check vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
15. Clean all resident dining rooms in accordance with housekeeping guidelines.
16. Clean all resident activity rooms following department policy and procedure.
17. Clean offices in accordance with housekeeping policy and procedure.
18. Clean entrances and exits: clean as directed
19. Clean all public restrooms and common areas.
20. Spot mop spills throughout facility.
21. Assist in the training of new employees.
22. Complete special projects as assigned.
21. Properly maintain all equipment used in performance of duties.
22. Follow instructions for proper use of all cleaning agents.
23. Follow guidelines set by infection control when cleaning isolation rooms.
24. Use safety precautions while performing all housekeeping services.
25. Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: (Please number)
1. Help with fire/evacuation drills.
2. Adhere all Wesbury policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a well heated, well cooled, well lighted, and well ventilated area. Exposed to physical and emotional disabilities of resident population. Exposure to infectious diseases and infectious waste. Exposure to strong odors.

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read schedules, instructions on equipment, and labels on cleaning chemicals. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position. Ability to work with co-workers and other staff. Ability to treat all residents, their families, visitors, and staff with care and respect. Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information outside the workplace. Must adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:
Assist in the training of new employees.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Follow supervision from lead housekeeper and manager.
