Employment Opportunity:

Housekeeper

The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Housekeeper for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County. This is a Contract Housekeeping Position with up to 40-Hours. The Housekeeper will be responsible for housekeeping functions such as cleaning in several buildings and/or domicile areas, maintaining linen supply, and reporting and follow-up on assignments. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.

Essential Functions:

This is skilled work in housekeeping is responsible for tasks performed in a state institution. Incumbents are responsible for housekeeping functions such as cleaning in several buildings and/or domicile areas, maintaining linen supply, and reporting and follow-up on assignments. The housekeeper works under the general supervision of a senior housekeeper overseeing the operation of housekeepers.

• Performs all duties and operations related to housekeeping functions such as cleaning, and maintaining buildings, offices, bathrooms, sleeping facilities, etc., following established safety procedures.

• Maintains sufficient inventory of supplies to perform daily functions to support agency operations.

• Removes trash and debris from assigned areas.

• Salary: $11.50 per hour.

Experience/Education Requirements:

Education:

Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma.

Experience:

One (1) year of related experience, six (6) months of which must be experience related to housekeeping.
