Best Western Plus Wausau Rothschild Hotel in Rothschild, WI is looking for one housekeeper to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.

The purpose of this standard procedure is to outline the authority and reporting relationships, scope and essential function of Housekeeper for Discover Lodging Management, Inc.

1.2 This Job Description is intended to serve as a general list of the requirements for this position, the authority for action that the individual occupying this position has and responsibilities and duties to be performed. It is not intended as a contract for employment, nor does it guarantee employment for a period of time.

1.3 The General Manager retains the right to change any portion of this job description at any time and the incumbent will be notified in writing.

2.0 BASIC FUNCTION

2.1 The basic function of the Housekeeper is to provide clean and comfortable guest rooms in line with the standards set forth by Discover Lodging Management and the franchise company.

2.2 To ensure guest satisfaction by providing friendly and courteous service.

Preferred: One plus years of housekeeping experience.

3.0 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to accept directions and priorities from supervisor and reliably follow-through on tasks. Ability to perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest. Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interacts easily with strangers. Ability to cooperate and support others. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to safely work with cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.

3.1 Physical Requirements:

Body Positions: requires extended periods of standing and walking.

Body Movements: walking, bending, reaching, grasping, lifting, climbing stairs, flexing arms, pushing, good hand and finger dexterity.

Body Senses: must be able to smell well enough to be alerted to smoke or

fire in the building or any potential hazards.

3.2 Mental Capabilities:

Language: must be able to communicate in English both in writing and orally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction. Thoroughly and correctly cleans and sets up guest rooms according to operational policies and standards in allotted time to ensure guests satisfaction.

5.21 Removes soiled bed and bath linens and replaces with clean linens.

5.22 Removes trash and debris from guest room.

5.23 Cleans all surfaces in bathroom area.

5.24 Dusts all surfaces.

5.25 Replenishes promotional materials/literature.

5.26 Replenishes room amenities.

5.27 Vacuums room.

5.28 Makes beds, sofa sleepers, cribs, and roll-away's according to standards.

5.29 Reports unusual circumstances to supervisor.

5.30 Reports maintenance requests promptly.

5.31 Turns in articles left in rooms to front desk for lost and found handling.

5.3 Maintains clean and orderly cart and vacuum cleaner to maximize job efficiency.

5.4 Reports all “do not disturb” or bolted door rooms to supervisor to ensure guest safety and maximize guest satisfaction.

5.5 Organizes storage areas to ensure the quality of the contents and maximize job efficiency.

5.51 Checks stock to determine adequacy for day’s work.

5.52 Re-stocks storage rooms and/or carts.

5.53 Pulls damaged and/or rewash linen and returns it to the laundry.

5.6 Locks linen closets, linen chutes, and trash chutes to ensure maximum safety and security at all times.

5.7 Acquires working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively.

5.8 Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.

5.9 Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.

5.10 Performs other duties as request or required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
