Coffee House Manager

We are looking to hire an energetic Coffee House Manager with the leadership abilities necessary to manage one of our premier Bad Ass Coffee locations. The Coffee House Manager will be responsible for the successful operation of the coffee house location, to include the hiring, training, managing, and overseeing of the coffee house and its staff to ensure all customers receive the highest level of customer service with quality beverages.

To ensure success in this position, candidates will need to be organized, perform to a high level of accuracy while under constant pressure. Coffee House Managers must have good communication and interpersonal skills, inventory management skills and prioritization skills.

Coffee House Manager Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers and inform them of new items and specials; answers questions, accepts orders and payments, and seek feedback to resolve complaints.
  • Make and serve beverages (coffee sodas and tea) and foods (bagels, muffins, and sandwiches); provides product suggestions and assist customers with special orders.
  • Evaluate and adjust coffee house staff to meet customer needs and business goals; train coffee house staff in beverage creation, to include use and cleaning of coffee-equipment.
  • Address house staff performance issues promptly and professionally; provide motivation, training, and support to ensure top performance; recognize and reward top performers.
  • Develop work schedules to ensure coffee house operations are open at appropriate and convenient times; provides functional supervision for coffee house staff.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets and submit for payroll; evaluate coffee house staff scheduling to meet business needs while retaining target labor costs.
  • Manage vendors and maintain inventory levels to ensure fulfillment requests are met; review delivery, shipment, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain updated records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and expenses; ensure location profitability by growing sales while controlling direct and indirect costs.
  • Ensures coffee house adheres to all local, state and federal laws, to include health department regulations, fire and building codes, food codes, and sanitation procedures.

Coffee House Manager Requirements:

  • Experience in the leadership and management of café operations and personnel.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in café and coffee house operations.
  • Organizational and logistical skills with proactive critical thinking.
  • Ability to manage people, equipment, and inventory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically agile, dexterous, and able to lift minimum 40 pounds.
  • Ability to remain claim during stressful situations.
