JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Fairfield Inn and Suites Chicago/Streeterville is looking for a house attendant to add to our strong housekeeping team! We are looking for those who are willing to develop our team culture, utilizing their skills to create an environment dedicated to thoughtful and attentive service with a focus customer experience.

Employment is contingent upon clearing drug screen, background check, and E-Verify.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for those who can keep our hotel clean and in orderly condition while maintaining a customer first attitude. Your job is to ensure standards of cleanliness in assigned guest rooms are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis. You will need to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service within established time limitations. You'll need the ability to create a motivating work environment to perform heavy cleaning duties and perform routine maintenance activities. You must have a strong passion for excellence and guest service. Strive to continuously evolve and improve your performance in order to provide a high standard of service for all guests each and every day. RESPONSIBILITIES::* Celebrate our culture of individualism, engagement, having fun and evolving the Fairfield Inn and Suites experience for every guest every time.

• Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.
• Inspect all public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have been met; reports any problem areas to supervisor.
• Assist room attendant with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens.
• Delivers linens and necessary supplies to room attendants.
• Clean stairways throughout the hotel.
• Collect trash throughout guest floors including room attendants' carts, vending and room service areas.
• Sort all linen from chute into bins.
• Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
• Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team player.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Previous houseman or janitorial experience required.

• Required to stand and be on your feet for 8 hours, lift and/or push 100-300 pounds.
• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and/or walking with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.
• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.
• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
