Responsible for the conversion of paper records to an optically imaged medium. Ensures accuracy and completeness of all protected health information (medical records) processed for optical imaging. Utilized Data Capture/Quality Control Indexing features to assure conversion is complete and accurate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School Education or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

EXPERIENCE:

1. Applicants with experience in Optical Imaging and/or Imaging Customer Certification (ICC) preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Scans and indexes medical records for optical imaging and routes finished documents to appropriate areas.

2. Collects and prepares all documentation for optical imaging, assuring proper patient and document identifiers are on each document, and for the correct patient.

3. Requests patient record and/or microfilm and combines all patient records, re-numbering and re-assembling the permanent record appropriately.

4. Identifies documentation in systems and records assuring records are for the correct patient and patient encounters for proper clinical accesses.

5. Uses good judgment and discretion when dealing with physician offices concerning access to and availability of records.

6. Assists in other technical areas as requested by EIM Regional leadership.

7. Adheres to productivity standards as established for prepping, scanning, indexing, and processing documents in a timely and efficient manner.

8. Maintains patient confidentiality by not revealing and/or discussing patient information with anyone who does not have a legitimate interest in the information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Ability to lift, push or pull 11-20 pounds.

2. Ability to sit for sustained periods of time.

3. Endure excessive standing, bending, and stooping.

4. Have finger dexterity and complete use of hands, arms, and feet.
