Falmouth High School seeks to expand its administrative capacity by adding a caring and committed school administrator to its team. This second Assistant Principal will work with the Assistant Principal and Principal to bring leadership to the school community, ensure school safety, and enhance the culture of learning. This position is anticipated with the passage of the school budget. The successful candidate is an exceptional communicator, a collaborative team player, technologically savvy, and passionate about working with adolescents.

They will possess a strong understanding of instructional best practices and experience supporting the professional growth of educators. Our new AP will have demonstrated success in relationship-building, fostering equity and positive school climate, and creative problem solving. The ideal candidate will: Support staff, students, and families in navigating adolescence (including managing discipline referrals, attendance, parent concerns, school culture, etc.)Work in collaboration with Student Resource Officers (SROs) and Building leadership, work to ensure the safety and security of the building, and maintain crisis procedures Monitor attendance issues Oversee substitute teachers (hiring, support, etc.)Provide facilities supportCoordinate, as needed, aspects of the scheduling process (student placement, duties, etc.)Champion best practices in classroom management, curriculum, instruction, and assessmentAssist in scheduling and implementing supervision and evaluation process for all teachers, counselors, and specialists in the FHSSupport new staff in acclimating to FHSProactively address matters of equity & inclusionCollaborate with school leaders and teams to support learning (Grade Level Teams, Student Concern Teams, Elementary and High School leaders, etc.)Maintain regular, timely, clear communications with families, staff, and studentsProvide supervision while maintaining high visibility throughout the school and campus facilitiesFacilitate IEP meetings/facilitate and case manage 504s. Falmouth High School is located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland.
