Come Join Our Team! DKW Communications, Inc. (DKW) is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies i.e. defense, law enforcement and security. We are currently looking for a Help Desk Specialist to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support to our government customer located at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA.


Overview

The Help Desk Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist users with personal computers and server problems relating to hardware, software, and network configurations.
  • Troubleshoots all Microsoft Office Automation Tools, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Electronic Mail software, as well as any other Automated Information System interfaces with the PC.
  • Staffs the help desk and provides knowledge to other staff members and advises on computer operations to MTF users.
  • Trouble shoots printers and other PC peripherals as well as connectivity problems.
  • Validates user accounts for active and non-active staff.
  • Manages user accounts. Creates, deletes, modifies, repairs email and user accounts and updates passwords.
  • Resolves customer problems with remote desktop applications.
  • Supports the implementation of computer security through automated procedures, manual fixes, and customer interaction.
  • Communicates daily with outside organizations to ensure user access to the network.
  • Offers feedback to hospital section supervisors, work group managers and customers concerning customer service and work order status.
  • Assists installation and implementation of small-scale Information Technology (IT) projects local to Langley AFB. Oversight and guidance on said projects will be provided by Chief Information Officer (CIO).
  • Maintains conceptual knowledge of networking to troubleshoot PC problems such as connections and file level security.
  • Maintains Air Force certification Time Compliance Network order (TCNO) security updates and packages. Installs, verifies and reports to appropriate agencies or staff.
  • Performs all other additional duties as assigned appropriate to the profession.



Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Help Desk Specialist; preferably in healthcare environment
  • Experience working with PC/laptops, Telephone Handsets, Mobile Communication Devices, Videoconference Endpoints, Network Printers, and Digital Scanners
  • Must have one of the following certifications: IAT Level I Certification or above (A+, Network+, Security+ or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SCCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)).
  • CPR Training (Will be company provided)
