Description

The primary role of the Tire Technician is to be responsible for comprehensive tire maintenance and coordination of third-party contractors associated with tire repairs; to gain a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of both the operational and administrative responsibilities and implement plans to support operational teams.

Essential Duties

• 
  Fully understand the fleet of equipment and capable of changing tires on all equipment.
• Coordinate all preventative, predictive and unforeseen tire repairs or coordinate third party contractors with SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT being the highest priorities.
• Coordinate contractors / 3rd party vendors for large equipment tire repair or replacement.
• Must be available and flexible to work all shifts as business needs require.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Routine communication and coordination with other corporate departments.
• Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping.
• Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 
  Strong maintenance background with experience with tire handling, changing and associated tire maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills for a multifaceted work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication.
• E-maint software experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented and customer focused.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
• Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge, above the minimum requirements.
• Must satisfactory qualify/obtain a TWIC card.

Physical Demands

  Must be able to see well enough to read gauges, precision measuring instruments, schematics, maintenance manuals as needed.
• Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others within the company.
• Must be able to reach with arms and hands to perform inspection, maintenance and repair duties when needed.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat.
• Must be able to use hands/fingers to grasp, handle, and feel.
• Must be able to climb and balance well enough to mount equipment by climbing up and down steps as needed.
• Must be able to work from elevated and/or tight locations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
