Job Description

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in earthworks and site utility work. Experience with multiple pieces of equipment are required. Minor mechanical skills a must. CDL license a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment (dozers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, grinders, compactor off road trucks) efficiently and safely
• Produce a consistent quality product with no customer complaints
• Ensure all equipment is operating at a safe level
• Perform manual labor when necessary
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
• Able to read blueprints and perform layout as needed
• During inclement weather, operate a truck with snow plow and salt spreader and/or heavy equipment for snow removal events which may be on-call and outside of normal working hours
• Other duties may be assigned
• Complete daily inspection of equipment at start and end of shift
• Clean off machines inside and out daily
• Ensure equipment is fueled and serviced daily
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required
• Follow all safety guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements * High school graduate or GED equivalent

• Considerable knowledge of heavy equipment operation
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Able to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
• Able to work flexible schedule
• Incumbent will be required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and ambulate around the production site
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Exposure to loud noises, hot/cold temperatures, dust, and other environmental factors
• Familiar with utilities and blueprint reading
• Based out of one location but working in Central Ohio

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
