In your Health and Safety Specialist role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world.

To provide overall tactical leadership for the Health and Safety systems at the Beech Island manufacturing site in one of four product systems in support of a safe and profitable operation that strives to continuously improve. Provide leadership in establishing and sustaining a strong EHS&S culture that supports continuous improvement through risk reduction and injury prevention efforts, as well as maintaining compliance to K-C standards and applicable Federal, State and Local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently influence and demonstrate that safety is a value by following, and ensuring all employees follow, safety procedures, maintaining a safe workplace, complying with safety rules, and holding others to the same standard.
  • Implementation of reliable systems that prevent loss and reduce risk throughout the organization.
  • Ensure site compliance with K-C, OSHA, EPA, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and other federal, state, and local applicable EHS regulations.
  • Ensures that all mandatory K-C, federal, state and local Health and Safety reports are completed on time.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • This position typically requires a bachelor's degree/pursuing a degree or specialized diploma in a health and safety, environmental discipline, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role or leading safety programs/initiatives.
  • Experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment/plant experience preferred.
  • Incumbent would possess demonstrated ability to organize and lead by influence a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills are desired.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NFPA, and other federal and state agencies is required.
