    TITLE OF POSITION: Head Varsity Football Coach
    (with multiple teaching positions available with certification)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma, teaching certificate preferred.
    • Must have high school football playing & coaching experience.
    • Proven leadership skills and experience
    • Cultivate a positive culture, high expectations, build rapport with athletes
    • Have a sound knowledge of offensive and defensive strategies
    • Know, follow, and stay up to date on all MHSAA rules pertaining to in and out of season contact
    • Stay current in coaching methods
    • Plan and execute engaging practices with strong, appropriate intensity and rigor, provide high quality feedback to athletes for improvement.
    • Coordinate and teach football skills and strategies to build a competitive varsity program
    • Assemble and guide a cohesive high school coaching staff
    • Be able to effectively communicate with the various football stakeholders including players, parents, community, and staff.
    • Experience dealing with difficult situations
    • Be able to take and pass MHSAA required AED, CPR, First Aid Training, CAP 1 & 2 training.
    • Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all equipment and supplies.
    • Experience with establishing a budget and ordering for yearly needs.
    • Strong personal/social skills with the ability to effectively communicate using a variety of media and methods.
    • Willingness to lead and develop sub-varsity programs to feed a successful varsity team.
    • Possess the ability to motivate athletes/coaches to work toward program philosophies and goals.
    • Coordinate in-season and out-of-season practice/conditioning opportunities for 6-12th grade.
    • Knowledge of college recruitment, placement, and scholarships.
    • Effectively support academics, positive behavior, and character development in all players
    • Organize and facilitate program staff meetings, parent meetings, parent and award nights.
    • Willingness to participate and attend athletic department activities and training.
