Head of Human Resources

• Establish and maintain environment in assigned locations that promotes the delivery of excellent guest service.
• Counsel, mentor and liaison with business leaders on people related decisions that support their operational objectives.
• Lead and maintain a highly effective talent acquisition team through a clear vision, effective communication and accountability.
• Build, implement and continuously improve the Resort’s recruiting strategy to ensure the right people and number are onboarded and in position at the right time.
• Lead Resort and NA DE&I initiatives that build greater awareness and a more diverse makeup.
• Develop new partnerships and new programs that support the Resort’s designation as a top employer in the community.
• Stay up to date on developments in employment law on both the federal and state level. Applies findings and changes to existing policies and practices and communicates changes.
• Serve as the “go to” HR resource on critical and or confidential requests by the HR director or another member of the leadership team.
• Ensures policies, procedures, practices and processes are consistent with labor regulations and the culture of LEGOLAND Florida Resort (LLFR).
• Manages raised concerns to minimize legal exposure while creating a fair and equitable working environment. Refers raised concerns to the HR Director as needed.
• Leads the Talent Acquisition team who’s responsible for ensuring the Resort’s staffing levels mirror the needs of the business through a well communicated strategy.
• Works with line managers to identify staffing needs and timelines for positions consistent with the organization’s budget and business plan.
• Coaches line managers on performance management practices and expectations.
• Develops and implements a Resort communication strategy that supports engagement and routine business updates.
• Ensures strong recognition and reward programs are in place in addition to a robust calendar of fun activities for staff.
• Serves as member and a role model of human resources team to give to overall effectiveness of the human resource function. Is an active and participatory member, promoting and demonstrating LEGOLAND’s culture and core values through corresponding behavior and actions.
• Develops and executes on special and or sensitive projects as requested by the HR Director.

• Minimum of seven years developing Human Resources experience including managing HR professionals. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of current labor regulations including ADA, FMLA, EEO, Wage and Hour, and Title VII laws.
• Ability to utilize good judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Requires proven skill in interpersonal relationships, making presentations, negotiations, and verbal and written communication.
• Strong leadership skills in addition to organizational, follow-up, project management and process improvement skills are required.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to support Resort operations.
• Has valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
• Willing to travel locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to conduct business as needed.
