What you'll do:
The Head of Deposit Products is the top-level leader role responsible for the Bank’s Deposit Product Management function across all business lines. This role is expected to drive synergistic enhancements, stability, and sustainable scalability aligned with the bank’s strategic vision and objectives for the bank’s entire product suite.
What we are looking for:
This role will design and execute a strategic product roadmap that details direct departmental-level leadership required to realize all concepts and key potential innovations into tangible, profitable products that align with the bank’s objectives and meets profitability goals. As Head of Deposit Products, this role will coach, mentor, and lead a team of Product Managers and Product Analysts who are responsible for managing cradle-to-grave lifecycle of assigned deposit banking products. From innovative brainstorming, conception and business case analysis to technical development and introduction progressing through market growth, ongoing maintenance, and constant improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Banking Officer(s) in designing, developing, and executing the Bank’s strategic vision with targeted focus on leading the efforts to develop, deliver and manage profitable deposit banking products. Success is measured by the team’s ability to meet deposit product development objectives, manage product health and the team’s responsiveness to market dynamics including being able to pivot mid-project to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Set the strategic technology direction to support product development, project delivery scope and all resource allocation including, but not limited to, budget and talent management. Defines the standards and deliverables for the complete deposit product lifecycle including clearly defining business case protocol and development, business requirements gathering processes, product definition and design best practices, product/source implementation and ongoing improved product maintenance.
  • Ensures department success through constant product health evaluation and efficacy. In addition, this role will develop and monitor the team’s efforts to proactively address any potential and/or perceived obstacles for product development, production, implementation, adoption, deteriorating product performance, competitive analysis, mitigating risk from market developments, complications in service delivery, and/or any deviation from an efficient and profitable product.
  • Develops, engages, and sustains strong healthy partnerships throughout the Bank particularly in Treasury Management Sales, overall business development, Risk Management, 1.5 Compliance, Information Technology and every internal support partner department and third-party service.
  • Mentors and coaches the team to constantly build talent platform capable of stretch goals and responsibilities. Responsible for building a collaborative team through hiring, talent management, performance management and engaging in learning and development to ensure the highest quality work from the team.
Education:
  • Bachelors desired in related field and/or minimum of 15 years direct, relatable experience in Product Management, Treasury Management, Lending and/or Deposit Sales
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services. Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and best practices.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of banking products, including treasury management, credit cards, as well as pricing dynamics and targeted market awareness in all key WAB markets. Experience with product management methodology including new product launches, road mapping, business case analysis and application, product enhancements, communication and marketing plans, robust executive management skills including but not limited to C-suite/Board presentations, and dashboard/report development.
  • Superior written, verbal communication and organization skills
Travel:
Occasional travel required, less than 20%
