WHAT WE NEED

This position coordinates efforts within each shift and directs activity of Forklift Drivers to provide the safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging and finished goods through the entire Warehouse.

  • This position is for 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30am) in our Millennium Warehouse on the Macedon, NY grounds.
  • Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation. The facility is not on a bus route.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Trains, coaches, and observes Forklift Drivers and ensures that any Safety concerns are documented and addressed with employees.
  • Recommends retraining or procedural changes to enhance safe and efficient operation.
  • Operates Fork Lifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures.
  • Maintains awareness of pedestrian traffic, dock and racking conditions at all times when operating equipment.
  • Inspects and takes necessary corrective actions to ensure that pallet condition and load stability of materials allows for safe handling.
  • Follows all BRF Safety procedures and GMPs.
  • Per established SOPs, receives vendor purchase orders, receives and transfers interplant product, locates product in storage locations, picks truckload and LTL orders in FIFO sequence, loads truckload and LTL carriers.
  • Supports, monitors, and assigns daily tasks to hourly Forklift Drivers, following the direction of the Manager Warehouse. Coordinates dock and trailer transfers with 3rd party carriers and other Warehouse locations.
  • Communicates with Supply Chain, QA, and Production regarding any issues that impacts the timely receipt or transfer of materials as scheduled, and works with team to support resolution of any such issues.
  • Accurately generates and follows Bills of Lading and Pick Lists and conducts supporting transactions in SAP to update Inventory.
  • Accurately enters materials received into SAP system.
  • Documents and addresses with Forklift Drivers errors in paperwork, procedures, or SAP transactions.
  • Loads and unloads trucks within standard time allocation and follows specified load distribution instructions.
  • Receives, verifies counts, and places raw materials into specified Warehouse storage locations.
  • Inspects all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions.
  • Takes corrective action as required to ensure delivery of freight in acceptable condition by following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented Inspection procedures.
  • Inspects work area and maintains housekeeping to GMP and Food Safety standards at all times within shift.
  • Communicates to Forklift Drivers the requirements of internal and external customer expectations for Housekeeping standards and handling practices.
  • Assists as assigned in the organization and cleaning of dock, rack storage areas, and facility.
  • Reports to Supervision any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Reports and takes actions required to correct or rework any damaged materials.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of forklift related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be capable of performing all duties of Forklift Driver as required.

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Ability to problem solve with limited information.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to enter, review, and provide basic analysis using RedZone.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 600 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see color, and ability to adjust focus.
