GRADUATE ENROLLMENT COUNSELOR

Position Summary:
The Enrollment Counselor will represent and promote Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) and Trinity Graduate School (TGS) to prospective students by cultivating meaningful relationships and providing helpful information through various recruiting activities. The Counselor will aggressively recruit new students, review and evaluate students’ admissions applications, as well as offer advice to students regarding the application process, academic programs, academic requirements, financial aid options, and other student services.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting
- Develop aggressive individual strategies to recruit a designated number of new students each year from within a portion of the applicant pool.
- Participate in on-campus recruitment efforts by providing excellent customer service and accurate information for prospective students who visit the campus, attend special events, and “drop in” the office.
- Initiate regular contact with prospective students through phone calls, emails, and other means of communication.
- Provide timely and thorough responses to incoming phone calls and emails from prospective students, and receive calls from students calling the main admissions phone line.
- Initiate, coordinate and implement general recruitment strategies in collaboration with other members of the Graduate Admissions team.
- Participate in off-campus recruitment efforts through extensive travel and the development of relationships with both students and influencers.
Admissions
- Prepare and process applications to be reviewed for admission, and make decisions about students’ eligibility for admission.
- Share the progress of applications and provide regular student contact reports, recruiting travel evaluations, and other information as requested.
Advising
- Provide information and guidance for prospective and incoming students regarding academic programs and requirements, financial aid and scholarship options, and “fit” for Trinity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.- At least one full year of seminary or graduate education.
- Good relational and listening skills, and ability to work with a team.
- Attention to detail, well organized, and responsive.
- Ability to self-start, work independently, and work entrepreneurially.
- Ability to travel frequently and remain productive while out of the office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
- Computer literacy, especially in MS Office and database/CRM software.
- Ability to maintain confidences and handle sensitive situations.
- Enthusiastic about Trinity and seminary/graduate education.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree from TEDS or TGS preferred.- Previous admissions or other higher education experience.
- Previous recruiting, sales, or marketing experience.
Work Schedule:
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Travel 20-30 days per year. All Admissions employees are required to work on Explore, Open House, and other Admissions campus event days/weekends and make evening calls.
