Job description
Breakthrough Manchester’s mission is to launch Manchester middle school students, particularly those from traditionally underserved communities, on the path to college while inspiring the next generation of high school and college leaders and educators. Not only does Breakthrough focus on preparing our students and teachers for success through teaching and learning, but also developing social, advocacy, communication, and leadership skills. The Granite State Education Corps places AmeriCorps members with schools and nonprofits to support youth (grades 4-12) that have been impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Members will mentor youth, prioritize youth voice, encourage problem-solving and listening skills, and help youth explore new things and opportunities to make decisions about what they want to do and how. The end goal is to increase resiliency, develop human capital, and ultimately increase self-sufficiency of the youth.

Member Duties : The Breakthrough AmeriCorps member will support college and middle school students involved in Breakthrough’s programming. They will develop relationships and gather resources within the community in order to provide children with academic enrichment and support and to connect them with services to help them succeed.
