Position Overview
WSP Environment & Infrastructure has a career opportunity for a GIS Specialist / Field Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The position support of a variety of projects with our Environmental, Geotechnical and Infrastructure groups. The desired candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a focus on providing high-quality GIS services and developing creative solutions. Your Impact

  • Create high-quality figures, maps, and graphics for inclusion in project reports, presentations and websites.
  • Perform GIS analysis using a variety of ESRI ArcGIS software products.
  • Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including public domain, field collection, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
  • Perform regular quality control checks of spatial and non-spatial datasets to ensure data integrity.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to keeping projects on time and within budget.
  • Interface with various project managers and clients.
  • Perform site visits and field assessments utilizing mobile data collection tools.
  • Will be approximately 60% GIS work and 40% field work.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Role Requirements
  • BS in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field, or a GIS certificate
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator
  • A minimum of 2 years professional experience.
  • Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS software (Pro, Desktop, and/or Online)
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills with the ability to understand and carefully follow both written and oral guidance/instructions.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and capable of independent work and the ability to work on project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and experience with QA/QC and data analysis.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online and Web AppBuilder
  • Experience in regulatory permitting, including stormwater permitting and water quality.
