T&M Associates is seeking a GIS Professional to join our Natural Hazards team as a Geographic Information System Specialist. This position can be based out of any of our office locations, including PA, NJ and OH.

This individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks pertaining to geospatial data such as mapping, data creation, manipulation, maintenance and management to include use of GIS-specific applications. A primary aspect of the work will be focused on data and systems pertaining to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which would include FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps and supporting databases, flood risk assessments, and elevation analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in analyzing, designing, and developing GIS datasets using ESRI ArcGIS is required.
• GISP certification, or goal to obtain is considered a plus.
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) accreditation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GIS and geodatabase database fundamentals as well as ability to perform or provide data quality control and metadata creation.
• Familiarity with using GIS Layout Views to generate static maps and adjust for readability of digital map outputs.
• Familiarity with the ESRI ArcGIS product suite and knowledge of GIS-relevant scripting methods.
• Familiarity with resiliency and mitigation planning is a plus.
• Understanding of FEMA FIRMs and FISs preferred.
• Data experience, including feature extraction/compilation, capturing and analyzing data, creating and manipulating databases, and elevation data processing/aerial data interpretation, quality assurance/control and metadata creation.
