Position Title: Regional Application Center Support: GIS Analyst

Responsibilities:

Job location will be the Louisiana National Guard, Camp Beauregard, Pineville, LA. Primary hours will be Tuesday – Friday, 0700 to 1730.

Position will support University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Regional Application Center Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs by providing analysis using GIS to support water management and compliance requirements for Regional Application Center clients. Position will support the Louisiana Military Department in ensuring compliance with Hazardous Waste Management, Water Resource Management, and generalized compliance programs. Position will work directly with the Louisiana Military Department’s Compliance Branch to develop and maintain project management for programs.

The primary responsibility of the position is to provide support and assist the Louisiana National Guard by performing duties to include:

• Use GIS and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) applications to ground-truth data, and acquire digital data from internal and other sources, along with other techniques for field data collection.
• Provide program support by establishing priorities and strategies for achieving program goals; monitor program progress to ensure that milestones are being met; in coordination with the Compliance Branch Manager. Develop program and project plans and cost estimates; develop project funding documents, project justifications, and assess results of failure to fund any projects.
• Conduct analysis and ensure compliance with all stormwater permits and regulations; conduct annual storm water compliance evaluation; ensure compliance with all stormwater permits and regulations; investigate drinking water complaints from facilities; investigate problems with water wells.
• Assist in developing Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for compliance with NEPA to ensure impacts are considered in all Louisiana Military Department and Louisiana Army National Guard activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree.

Must be proficient in MS Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, CompTIA IT Fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.

1-3 years of experience working in GIS, information technology, and/or generalized IT specialty.
