Our machining company, a subsidiary of a leading German automotive group, is a manufacturer of high-quality automotive components. We specialize in producing precision-machined components and assemblies for the automotive industry.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations in Auburn, Alabama. The General Manager will be responsible for leading the plant team of approximately 40 staff, driving operational excellence, and ensuring our products are of the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, specifically in machining and automotive components, and possess excellent leadership and management skills.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the Division located in Germany, the General Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and maintain a strong relationship with the parent company.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to the plant team to achieve operational objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
• Manage financial and budgetary aspects of the plant, including P&L, capital expenditures, and cost control measures.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and address any issues related to employee relations, recruitment, training, and retention.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the parent company in Germany to align operations with company strategy and goals.

• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in machining and automotive components manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading and motivating high-performance teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and P&L statements.
• Knowledge of German language is a plus.
