SUMMARY
Function: To provide skills performing general maintenance duties.
Scope: Responsible for using power and hand tools in the construction, maintenance and repair of structures, equipment, and articles of wood and metal.

DUTIES
AND
RESPOSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Typical: Perform general maintenance work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of floors, roofs, walls, stairways, doors, windows and other structures, operating power saws, planners, and hand tools. Repair tables, benches, cabinets, furniture, bookshelves, desks, counters, shower and tub enclosures and other equipment. Lay formica, tile and other coverings. Select material and cut to size and shape. Insert glass in windows or openings and glaze it. Check condition of woodwork. Repair and replace door and window screens and hardware. Perform minor construction projects. Keep records of materials used. Perform related duties as required, such as, moving furniture and equipment, assisting in other areas as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities except as assigned by Building Maintenance Supervisor.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS
Ability to read drawings, plans, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence,
and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
REASONING
ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions which can sometimes be complicated.

Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license and insurability.
