Job description

Quala-Die, Inc. is now hiring for a full time Machinist/Mill to join our team. In this role you would be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathes and mills to manufacture components to our customers’ requirements

Responsibilities:

· Prioritize, plan and prepare work. Analyze tasks and establish an appropriate sequence of operations

· Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications, number of parts to be machined, material specifications, machining stock, and due dates

· Check supplies to make sure there’s enough material to finish each job

· Set up and operate various NC/CNC lathes and CNC mills

· Select correct tooling, speeds and feed rates for each operation according to requirements and knowledge of metal properties and abrasives

· Verify dimensions of ground work piece for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks and load test equipment

· Check machines for proper maintenance and preparation before starting each job

· Machine components to blueprint specifications and stock allowances

· Operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment

· Must meet speed expectations to ensure productivity

Qualifications:

· Willingness to cross train on different equipment

· Excellent blueprint reading, understanding of GD& T, mechanical and math abilities

· Experience with CNC lathes and mills

· Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators and comparators

· Commitment to quality, speed and accuracy, and maximizing acceptable product percentages

· Able to work well independently and cooperatively with teams

· Able to communicate effectively with all levels

· Candidates must be able to work shifts, lift up to 40 lbs., and stand 8-10 hours per day.

· Committed to safety, team development, and product and service excellence

· Able to comprehend written or verbal procedures

· High school diploma or GED minimum
