POSITION:

General Laborer

LOCATION:

Reno

I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Polaris Processing is seeking a General Laborer for a state-of-the-art Bio-Diesel Refinery in Reno Nevada. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the General Laborer is responsible for & assisting with plant equipment maintenance and reliability programs. The General Laborer will work with all plant departments to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and plant production interruptions are minimized.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Safely assist with installations, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of piping, tube bending, refinery equipment including but not limited to compressors, pumps, blowers, condensers, fans, cooling towers, exchangers, etc.

· Operate mobile plant equipment including but not limited to Forklifts, JLG Man Lifts, & Cranes.

· Assist with mechanical and instrumentation/electrical problems on refinery equipment to minimize downtime, maximize reliability and assure compliance.

· Adheres to and applies company policies for safety, quality etc.

· Work to support strategic goals and objectives.

· Stay current on all required training and procedures.

· Coordinate with and support operations staff.

· Assist the maintenance department with prioritizing work.

· Works with plant staff on continuous improvement ideas and plans.

· Performs other duties and handles special projects as assigned.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associates degree or Certificate in a related field or equivalent manufacturing mechanical experience.

· Minimum of 3 years of refinery mechanical (or similar process plant) experience preferred

· Strong commitment to environment, health & safety, and ability to lead by example.

· Strong mechanical aptitude.

· Experience working with pipe cutting, tube bending, mobile machinery, & plant equipment

· Willing and able to work overtime for various plant emergencies and outages as needed.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated ability to manage time and meet targets.

· Demonstrated ability to lead and assist with team building

· Demonstrated ability to think critically, make decisions and solve problems effectively

· Process Safety Management knowledge is a plus

IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:

· Reports Directly to the Maintenance Manager.

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.

· Ability to work in changing climate conditions.

· Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

· Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
