Department Overview
Gas Regulatory and Risk comprises several teams focused on developing and maintaining gas guidance documents, acting as the liaison with our federal and state regulators, managing and ensuring compliance with all applicable code requirements and commitments, managing the response development and delivery for internal and external requests, developing risk strategy and quantitative risk modeling, leading the development of a risk-informed and resourced work plan, and developing regulatory strategy to support PG&E’s position in regulatory proceedings. All teams within Gas Regulatory and Risk serve a customer base both within Gas Engineering and Gas Operations, as well as cross-functionally with other PG&E organizations.

Position Summary
This position will manage the Gas Risk Management team within the Regulatory and Risk organization. Oversees the enterprise risk management process within the Gas functional area. Leads the risk assessment process and works with the Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (EORM) team and risk owners in asset management and operation groups to provide support to understand gas risks. The manager is also responsible for overseeing the Gas Risk and Compliance Committee meetings and coordinating the Safety and Nuclear Oversight Committee materials for the Board of Directors. This position will be expected to participate in regulatory proceedings (Risk Assessment and Mitigation Phase and the General Rate Case), which may include writing testimony and data responses as well as providing thought leadership to the Regulatory Strategy team.

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory, there is a preference for incumbent to be based out of PG&E’s Bay Area region; please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

Position will require up to approximately 10% of travel time in work schedule.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $132,000
Bay Area Maximum: $226,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $125,000
California Maximum: $215,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Qualifications-

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3 years leadership experience
8 years job related experience

Desired Qualifications:
MBA or MS, or equivalent experience
Training or registration as ISO 14001 management systems training
Familiarity with risk management concepts
Experience with risk and compliance strategic planning within Gas, another Functional Area or at PG&E Enterprise level

Responsibilities
Shapes the compliance and/or risk program to meet enterprise requirements while addressing the unique needs and requirements of the LOB.
Benchmarks program internally and externally to identify best practices in assigned program areas and lead implementation of significant program changes, improvements, and enhancements.
Drives the strategic Enterprise Risk Management program for Gas Operations, which includes review, identification, and management of the top safety risks for Gas Operations, developing and managing the risk quantification process, developing risk mitigation plans, and contributing to the development of the Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase proceeding.
Regularly presents to Gas Engineering leadership on the regulatory compliance and/or operational risk performance and process improvement initiatives.
Supports the annual planning process for Gas through integration of program risk reduction analyses with budget and program prioritization.
Provides direct supervision, staffing, training, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports. Assigns, prioritizes, and reviews project work, project initiatives, and special assignments.
