Preparation Room Manager - Connecticut Licensed Embalmer-Funeral Director

Description of Primary Responsibilities

➢ Performs transfers from place of death, which at times requires heavy lifting, including to-from crematory etc.

➢ Embalming, restorative arts, dressing, cosmetics, casketing of remains

➢ Preparing decedents for cremation as required by the State of CT

➢ Managing prep room, supplies & inventory, including daily maintenance of equipment and work space

➢ Perform additional tasks as needed including arrangements, direct funerals, Dr. Offices obtaining signatures, EDRS and in person filing death certificates & permits etc.

Required Skills/Qualifications

➢ Licensed Embalmer with exceptional experience skills, passionate work ethic and reliability

➢ Embalming independently in all situations without guidance, meeting all service schedules

➢ Computer proficient, i.e., email and Microsoft Office Suite

➢ Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, team player, compassionate, attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, professional appearance and grooming, motivated-self- starter. Ability to prioritize daily tasks in a very fast-paced full service high-volume business

➢ Requires a current valid driver’s license, clean driving record and background history

Compensation

➢ Very competitive hourly wage, (plus time and ½ overtime rate paid after 40 hours paid weekly) Overtime available but optional.

Initial base pay rate depends upon validated skills & length of industry experience level, employee anniversary cost of living wage increase, based upon business financial conditions

➢ One scheduled day off during work-week (daily schedule has potential for flexibility as long as daily tasks are completed as outlined per the services scheduled)

➢ Working coverage schedule includes 1-2 on-call weeknights and every other weekend

➢ Annual discretionary high performance standards individual bonus potential
