Summary:

LM Restaurant Group is looking for a talented Line Cook to join our team at Grant Park Bistro. The primary focus of this position will be to execute recipes and dishes that stay true to our brand in delivering and exceeding guest expectations. Ideal candidates will bring a true passion for cooking and strong teamwork skills.

This position will also be responsible for the daily production of menu items for a designated location within LM Restaurant Group. Their duties include but are not limited to; production and execution of menu items; use of a variety of kitchen equipment including but not limited to flat top grills, fryers, and ovens, food preparation, cleaning and restocking, and other duties as assigned. Communication skills are vital for this position as they will need to regularly work closely with upper management, restaurant management, and hourly employees both in the FOH and BOH.

Essential Functions:

Set up, stock and breakdown of station

Ability to read order tickets

Ability to complete prep lists

Follow recipes and directions

Properly prepare and store food

Perform portion control to minimize waste

Learn full menu including allergens in each menu item

Skills & Knowledge:

Can perform basic knife cuts

Understanding of food cooking temperatures

Basic communication skills in English

Physical Demand:

Daily exposure to hot and cold temperatures, cleaning chemicals, as well as hot flames and cooking oils

Use of sharp tools such as knifes for daily production

Must be able to stand for 8+ hours

Ability to lift up to 40 pound regularly and 60 pounds on occasion

Required Education and experience:

1+ years Line Cook experience in a high-volume restaurant

Food Handlers certification within 30 days of employment

Completion of vocational or culinary school preferred
