The Engineering Team:
Our Engineering team plays a big part in the company's success through the development of innovative technologies. Engineers at JW Player are passionate about writing code and solving complex problems. As a Frontend Engineer, you will:
- Work in a cross-functional team, including back-end, data science, design and product management, all focused on our customer experience.
- Work on products and teams that service media publishers and broadcasters
- Build new features for our customers and write automated tests to make sure they work.
- Participate in code reviews with your peers.
- Work with an array of front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, SCSS, build-tools and more.
- Own feature development, releases and performance monitoring.
Requirements for the role:
- Minimum of 3 years experience working on front-end projects.
- Practical knowledge of (vanilla) JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience turning static designs into usable and interactive web applications
- Portfolio, Github profile, or list of sites and features you've worked on.
- Familiarity with modern javascript build scaffolding such as dependency management (NPM/yarn) and bundlers
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with React, TypeScript, ESNext or SASS/Less
- Experience with automating (Dockerized) deployments for web applications
- Experience with modern web accessibility best practices
- Experience developing and running automated tests on front-end code
Interview Process:
- Once we receive your application and resume:
- Hiring Managers will review resumes and select candidates they would like to consider for their teams
- If selected, you will be invited to a Team Interview Round
- 1-2 hour interview where you will be meeting an Engineering Manager and doing a live coding interview with an Engineer
- Post your interview, we will debrief
- If you are selected to move forward, you will be invited to a Final Interview Round
- 4-5 hour interview where you will meet other key team members and be asked to do a couple live coding exercises with Engineers on the team
- The interview process may change at any given stage.

According to New York City local Council laws, local New York City applicants residing in and performing this role in New York City will receive an annual salary dependent on experience between $85,000.00 - $165,000.00. In addition, applicants qualify for the benefits listed above.
The salary band is not applicable to applicants outside of New York City. Applicants located outside of the New York City area will have an adjusted rate equitable and competitive to their residing and surrounding area.
