Highland Rivers Health is seeking a Forensic Treatment Specialist for the Gilmer County area.

Job Description:

  • 6 hours weekly providing assessments, crisis intervention, individual counseling, and transition/aftercare planning within the Gilmer County Jail.
  • Coordinate with Gilmer outpatient staff in addressing 1013, 2013, or other crisis intervention needs within the Gilmer County jail to ensure appropriate crisis response.
  • Assist Gilmer outpatient staff in coordinating linkage to services following discharge from Gilmer County jail.
  • Assist Forensic Treatment Specialist South in covering treatment services in the Paulding County jail when needed.
  • Liaison and coordination services with Drug Courts, Mental Health Courts, and/or Veteran's Courts for the Conasauga Court Circuit (Whitfield, Murray) which may include court staffing attendance, participant reporting, and court review attendance.
  • Single point of contact for accountability court coordinators to facilitate scheduling, intake appointments, and service linkage as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with community shareholders such as court judges, court coordinators, detention center staff, etc.
  • Tracking of accountability court participants to verify financial obligations of the courts per MOU/Contract and collaborate with supervisor to ensure invoices are correct and delivered on a timely basis.
  • Provide behavioral health assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, either in clinic or out of clinic, as needed for the accountability courts.
  • Attend treatment court specific trainings such as MRT, Thinking For A Change, CBT-SA, etc.
  • Maintain high degree of responsiveness with accountability court coordinators and provide regular service plan updates to ensure evidence of continuum of care.
  • Monitor participant electronic records to ensure up-to-date documentation (Releases of information, safety planning, treatment planning, consents, etc)
  • Assist catchment-area outpatient clinics in open access interventions as needed and as schedule allows

NOTE: A pre-employment drug screen, random drug screen, and state & federal criminal background investigation will be required of selected applicant.

Requirements:Requirements:

  • Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree, Associate Licensed Clinicians as per the State of Georgia: LAPC or LMSW with full licensure within 1 year.
  • Two years of counseling experience
  • Preferred: Fully Licensed Clinician as per the State of Georgia: LPC or LCSW
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug testing and have a clean 7 year motor vehicle report
