Role Purpose:

The Plant Manager is accountable for leading transformational change in culture. Our plant teams in the delivery of our Safety, Quality, Service, Sustainability and Cost targets across our plants, enabling business growth through a high performing team culture. The Plant Leader will build capability throughout the plant team to ensure the sustainable performance and growth of the site through capacity, resource and talent planning in close partnership with relevant functional leaders. Working with clear structures and ways of working, the Plant Leader will ensure strong collaboration with our commercial and EUM colleagues to understand the impact of our EUM strategies and to connect this with our overall manufacturing planning and performance. The Plant Leader will work to ensure that our plant teams are clear on our Vision and our Purpose, including clearly understanding how their roles and collective plant performance help contribute to us being our customers’ most valued partner.

Role Priorities (1 - 3 years)

  • Lead the performance within the four walls of the plant to deliver on agreed targets of Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Sustainability.
  • Lead the successful deployment of the business operating system and embed a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset across the plant, contributing to increased engagement and performance of our plant teams.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the required functional resourcing is in place locally in line with agreed operating model standards, enabling our overall plant team to deliver on plant performance targets (including fully leveraging central capabilities and supports as appropriate).

Key Accountabilities

  • End to end ownership for activities within the four walls of the plant, leading to achievement of Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Sustainability targets
  • Accountable for leading a Safety First, Quality Always mindset across our plants, including the adoption & implementation of FSQ & HSE Standards through all aspects of operations, executing QHSE programs flawlessly through our teams
  • Leading out on improvement of plant Organizational Health targets (including active & clearly communicated engagement plans across selected areas of priority)
  • Lead plant level productivity across areas of asset management, performance and efficiencies in line with agreed business terms
  • Development of plant strategy, underpinned by a master schedule in line with growth plans and relevant manufacturing strategy
  • Lead and embed a CI mindset across the plant, actively seeking improvements and efficiency of operations, demonstrating an ability and team encouragement to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a high-performance ethos through the plant leadership team, empowering and coaching them to lead their teams with a high performing ethos through building the plant culture focused on driving employee engagement
  • Ensure the right talent and capabilities are in place to meet strategic objectives – accountable for recruitment and development plans at a plant level ensuring delivery of required functional capability in line with agreed structure and budget
  • Ensure the required training & development plans are available from appropriate functions to ensure sustainable delivery of the effective deployment of alli Standards (including all functional standards, SAP, etc.)
  • Build a clear two-way communication & engagement plan to ensure all plant employees are clear on plant performance and connection to business performance, including customer experience
  • Lead key change initiatives across the plant (and connect to plant master schedule), with required functional support e.g., automation, digital, sustainability etc.
  • Lead a performance management and measurement discipline across the plant, with focused analysis of plan performance data, recognizing individual/team achievements, setting clear plans to address performance gaps, understanding trends and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Lead out plant prioritization and ownership of our capital planning across all categories, empowered by agreed sign-off parameters locally and aligning to plant needs in line with prioritized planning (balancing capacity and forecasts)
  • Build our community profile and local engagement through representing the plant locally (in partnership with broader plant team Internal Communications/Public Affairs) e.g., community partnerships, local customer engagement, local statutory bodies etc.
  • Working with our manufacturing and broader functional leadership to ensure a connected view of plant priorities and connectivity to our EUM/commercial strategy, in line with customer segmentation criteria – ensuring a clear representation of plant perspectives, ideas and considerations needed to inform best decision making for the company.
  • Play an active part in New Product Development (NPD) processes in line with agreed ways of working, partnering with RDA and commercial as required to bring clarity to implications e.g., cost, service levels, OTIF etc.
  • The Plant Lead will work with the relevant NPI lead to define the set of NPI criteria for the plant - the Plant Lead is accountable for overall plant acceptance of the commercialized product into the plant
  • Take a constant look forward view with manufacturing leadership as required to ensure that the plant’s manufacturing capabilities are continually assessed, improved and adequately in place to deliver against customer expectations
  • Provide input into manufacturing footprint decisions, highlighting opportunities and risks at the plant level as required
  • Work with manufacturing leadership to ensure that all plants are sharing best practice across the plant network, participating in our Plant Leadership community
  • Driving proactive resolution for areas that do/could potentially impact plant performance through partnering with the relevant function in IO (QSHE, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement)
  • Proactively partner with RDA and Engineering to enhance Process Technology performance across our plants, leveraging our Process Technology Centers of Expertise, bringing benefits to our plant network (including contribution of ideas from local teams as well as executing against new standards)
  • Act as the ‘Technical Receiver’ for advanced manufacturing opportunities (including automation) through our Engineering team and other partners

Key Requirements

  • 8-15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and plant operations
  • A technical degree or understanding of technical processes
  • A proven ability to lead and mentor teams and other leaders
  • Prior experience with acquisition integration

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
