Your Role
- Shares the responsibility for the overall performance of the store and assists the store management team with generating sales operation
- Have a general understanding of every department, driving a customer service culture, developing staff, maintaining store appearance, controlling expenses and cash handling procedures
- Acts as lead sales associate in training and reviewing the work of employees within the assigned department
- Effectively oversee the sales floor to ensure customer / associate awareness at all times
- Maintain effective and efficient operations in the manager and/or assistant manager’s absence to include associate and employee safety practices, injury and illness reporting, etc.
- Motivate and develop associates to meet goals / objectives
- Serve customers in assigned departments, or storewide, and provide needed advice or information.
- Assist customers with complaints
- Remain current on all company policies and ensure that all policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
About You
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory or leadership (e.g. Team Leader) experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with customers and team
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend and stoop, grasp products, reach, pull and push, and climb ladders frequently
- Must be able to frequently lift loads up to 40 lbs. unassisted and able to push and pull carts with products over 40 pounds with assistance
