Fitness and Wellness Assistant Position Summary
The Fitness/Wellness Assistant leads physical and other related classes to meet the broadest possible spectrum of needs, ability levels and interests of all residents. Assessment of each interested resident’s capacity to participate in fitness and other forms of exercise. Overseeing the safe utilization of the Fitness Center, its equipment, and pools; and orienting residents and staff to the Fitness Center equipment and other offerings. Able to assist a variety of classes all having to do with engagement of the body in exercises through which the participant’s physical and other wellness needs are met. Engage residents positively, in a manner that is encouraging to their efforts, and to assure the effective marketing of Fitness Center and other exercise programs both to active participants and to others. Work cooperatively with therapists and other professional staff to create a climate that encourages wellness.

Life Enrichment/Activities Assistant Job Qualifications and Requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Demonstrate communication, organizational and leadership skills.
Be receptive to change and have an ability to learn.
Commitment to customer service and effective interpersonal communication skills
This individual will need to be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
