  • Provide specialized consulting services in various areas to include: financial planning, rate studies, and strategic planning.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative financial and economic analyses, as well as complex data analyses, using various software platforms, depending on the needs of the analysis and FNI software availability limitations.
  • Support the development of comprehensive financial models with user-friendly dashboards to support an integrated set of financial scenarios, assumptions, and metrics
  • Compile financial data in an organized and concise manner and be able to present the data in writing and/or verbally to groups of stakeholders.
  • Assist staff in the preparation of project status reports and in the processing of monthly project administration needs.
  • Perform industry and/or project-specific research.
  • Participate in industry organizations to the benefit of FNI.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Experience: Prior experience with municipal utilities or local government is a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, Concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or Engineering preferred.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in municipal and local government.
  • Education - MBA is preferred.
Qualifications
Skills Needed
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and ability to proactively gather required information from various sources. Attention to detail. Ability, with supervision, to design and build complex, dashboard driven, business/analytical models. Ability to use multiple software platforms to process large amounts of data and the ability to determine the appropriate platform to fit the specific need. Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks, changing priorities and function well under pressure and tight delivery in a timely manner. Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skill set.
Software Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (required)
  • Power Query, PowerBI, PowerPivot (plus, but not required)
  • Tableau, Snowflake/SSMS, SQL (plus, but not required)
