LOCATION: Headquarters
REPORTS TO: Financial Crimes Compliance Operations Officer
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non Exempt
PAY GRADE: NE 35 ($17.83 - $26.73 per hour)
AVAILABILITY: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm


Position Summary:

The Financial Crime Compliance Associate will be responsible for supporting various tasks for the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), and Fraud spaces within Pioneer. The Financial Crime Compliance Associate will assist with supporting department operations through the compilation and analysis of reports in line with department policy and BSA regulation, performing data validations, and communicating BSA related information across all business lines as applicable. In addition, the individual will be responsible for performing transaction monitoring reviews, account monitoring of high-risk individuals, risk analysis of new to bank customers, and supporting the Financial Crimes Investigator(s) where necessary. Ultimately, ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML) and related laws and regulation.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Creates, reviews and analyzes various daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual customer transaction reports for purposes of satisfying Bank Secrecy and Anti-Money Laundering regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the following:

  • Daily Customer Due Diligence review and follow-up
  • Daily Initial Risk Rating of New Accounts
  • Monetary Instrument Reports
  • NAICS Code assignment
  • Daily BAM Audit Log Review and Validations
  • BAM Software Updates
  • Compliance with FFIEC Guidance
  • Rules Based Risk Rating
  • 314(a) Scan and Review
  • Drawing On Today’s Deposit Report
  • Employee Overdraft Report
  • Daily Overdraft Logging
  • Keyword list scan review
  • CIP Reports

  • Assist the Financial Crime Investigator(s) with the gathering of additional documentation for investigations, organizing case files, tracking of fraud through the Bank, and review of suspicious activity.

  • Assists with compliance exams by gathering files, records, and other pertinent information for review by compliance examiners.
  • Assists other Financial Crime Compliance employees in tasks necessary to perform the overall management of the Program.
  • Reviews and responds to incoming BSA-related inquiries from all other business lines.
  • Identifies potential fraud and assists in the investigation of fraud as needed.
  • Applies customer tags in BSA BAM+ software for rules-based risk rating.
  • Performs annual enhanced due diligence reviews for high-risk customers as needed.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of all processes used to satisfy above activities.
  • Uses independent judgment when reviewing and analyzing reports to determine when further investigation is warranted. Reports findings to BSA Officer for further action and direction.
  • Identifies customer activity deemed suspicious or potentially fraudulent and assists Financial Crime Compliance Analysts and Investigators in preparing monthly reports for SAR Committee Review. Responsible for analyzing reports produced through BSA BAM+ software for further investigation and possible SAR filing as needed, including:
  • Alerts generated by BAM+ Scenarios
  • Prepare SARs for BSA Officer Approval

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years banking experience preferred.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS) certification encouraged but not required.
  • Knowledge of Banking Software preferably Horizon, Horizon XE, and/or Image Centre preferred.
  • Knowledge of BSA monitoring software preferably BAM or BAM+ preferred.
  • Above average organizational and communication skills with an ongoing sense of urgency to meet and exceed deadlines.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule when needed.
  • Strong ability to analyze and report relevant data.
  • Must maintain current industry knowledge and keep pace with BSA regulatory changes.
  • Commitment to continuing education, attends related conferences and obtains related certifications as requested.
  • Active participation in ongoing training to stay current with compliance regulations.
