Financing Services
Bechtel formed its financing services group in 1969 largely in response to the need to provide financing in support of many of Bechtel’s international projects. Bechtel Financing Services was integrated into a new entity, Bechtel Enterprises, in 1985 and expanded its remit to include project financing for private infrastructure projects. Today, the Financing Services group in Bechtel Enterprises is responsible for providing financing support to Bechtel’s Global Business Units and for leading financing activities on Bechtel Enterprises’ development projects. Additionally, Financing Services provides financial analysis and M&A support to Bechtel.

Position Summary
As a Director in Bechtel Enterprises’ Financing Services group, you will be leading Bechtel Enterprises’ efforts to secure financing for Bechtel projects. Supported by a team of analysts and associates, the Director will work to: confirm project economic and financial viability; build complex financial models, develop and implement financing plans; structure and negotiate commercial arrangements that can support financing commitments; and manage the process to financial close for Bechtel projects, together with the legal and financial advisors.

Responsibilities

• Act as a leader within Bechtel Enterprises’ financing team to secure financing for Bechtel’s global projects and advance projects through development and finance milestones from an early stage.
• Lead financing transactions from beginning to end, working closely with partners, outside advisors and internal development, legal, and EPC teams, often utilizing an ECA/DFI/MDB.
• Lead financial and economic analysis of potential projects, new markets, new technologies, and M&A targets.
• Spearhead project financing activities including financial modeling, investment evaluation, financing plan, both debt and equity financing.
• Lead project bids and project financing services for capital projects, including preparing qualifications and proposals, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements, and evaluating potential financing, development, and partnership structures.
• Provide financial input to commercial structuring and negotiation process to ensure contracts can support financing commitments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the financing community.
• Prepare and interface with senior management regarding financing strategy and current market terms and conditions.

Qualifications and Skills

• 8+ years of financing work experience including 6+ years of project financing experience.
• Demonstrated expertise and transaction experience with Export Credit Agencies and Development Financing Institutions.
• Prefer experience financing infrastructure projects using Build-Transfer, Public-Private-Partnerships or similar commercial arrangements.
• Prefer experience financing energy projects, familiarity with merchant power risk and commercial offtake arrangements.
• Outstanding communication, networking, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel, internationally if necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, finance, or a technical/engineering field.
• Prefer a Master’s Degree or MBA.
