Farm Stand Team Member

Job description:

Do you want to work surrounded by fresh air, delicious food, and workers who are passionate about their job? The Stone Acres Farm Stand is the place for you! Looking for an energetic individual who is passionate about small businesses and sustainable agriculture. Previous customer service experience is preferred, but not required. This is an hourly-rate, part-time position that runs until late Fall.

Responsibilities

• Stocking, organizing, and displaying goods
• Providing customer service
• Ringing out customers using Square
• Completing opening and closing tasks
• Occasional social media promotion for SAF retail.
• Knowledgeably and enthusiastically discuss our products and our
• farming practices with the public. Educate customers about the uses
• of our produce and share cooking tips.

• Clear and efficient communications skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete necessary tasks
• Good teamwork skills
• Enthusiasm for learning new skills through on-the-job training
• Ability to interact with other team members and customers professionally.
• Able to take direction, ask for help and accept constructive
• feedback.

About Stone Acres Farm: Stone Acres Farm is a sixty-five acre working farm located in the historic coastal New England town of Stonington, Connecticut. The property's rolling hills, gardens, and acres of vegetable production are open to visitors. We celebrate natural farming, sustainable food, culinary education and the preservation of open space, cultural landscapes, and historic structures. Located within ½ mile of Stonington harbor, Stone Acres is unique given its access to the sea, livestock, and vegetable resources
