Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Every Child Shines, the Family Advocate will work as part of Every Child Shines providing advocacy and guidance to families involved.

Primary Responsibilities

· Develops strong and supportive relationships with East Boston families

· Connects families in East Boston with opportunities surrounding early childhood education and local community resources

· Works with families to improve access to resources and supports

· Collaborates with Parent Partners and child development specialists demonstrating clear communication and an ability to build relationships with people from an array of backgrounds

· Conduct referrals for families to community services, ensuring consistent documentation

· Empowers families to best support their children by acquiring additional child development knowledge and sharing that knowledge with families with a strengths-based approach

· To best identify beneficial supports based on family’s needs, conduct needs assessments in partnership with Parent Partners and Parent Program Coordinator

· Participates in all East Boston Social Centers staff meetings

· Able to offer flexible hours based on families’ needs

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Demonstrated knowledge of family support systems

· Knowledge of strength-based practices in working with families

· Current and valid Driver License.

· Bi-lingual in Spanish (Preferred)

· Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities

· Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment

· Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building

· Communication skills

· Able to successfully pass a criminal background check as required by the regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
