Salary range: (See DCSD Classified Salary Schedule 2022-2023), 260 day contract

Position Description:
The Assistant Facilities Manager will be experienced in the oversight of STEM School Highlands
Ranch’s real estate assets, buildings and equipment to ensure that everything is safe and functional from a facilities standpoint. This position will assist in the responsibility for effective coordination of facilities maintenance, custodial projects, and activities with project managers, department heads, and vendors while enforcing policies and procedures aligned with Charter goals.

Position Requirements:
● Responsible for coordinating property management services of contracted vendor services and/or repairs. Review terms and conditions, and propose alternate language to ensure appropriate contracts.

● Responsible for conducting repairs and maintenance to the facility within a reasonable scope of work.

● Responsible for coordinating repair work for any outside contractors/vendors with the Chief
Operating Officer.

● Ensures that the campus facilities are maintained, operable, and clean for use by the staff/student community.

● Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.

● Negotiate multiple deadlines and resource and budget constraints with clients, managers, consultants and contractors through proactive approaches to meet project objectives.

● Coordinates with the Chief Operating Officer, department heads, managers and staff regarding the budgeting and implementation of projects, and area remodels, which may require the preparation of requests for proposal and management of contracts.

● Responsible for directing, planning, and evaluating daily operations, maintenance, energy savings programs, and reporting metrics and goals.

● Diagnoses malfunctions/problems with and makes repairs to facilities and equipment including all mechanical systems, building interiors and exteriors, and related structures.

● Investigates, prioritizes and addresses requests for services, complaints, and inquiries to develop work plans and schedules.

● Create and review schedule detail considerations of all activities needed to be completed within the resources allocated.

● Prepares short and long-term goals for the facilities management team including oversight to ensure goal achievement and appropriate staff engagement and communication to carry out policies and guidelines. Explains the purpose behind policies and programs.

● Provide leadership to staff and teams and exhibit behavior consistent with the School’s goals by demonstrating the ability to effectively manage conflict and disagreements and develop procedures and techniques for resolution.

● Assists in the preparation of a facilities budget and ensures conformity to budget allowances by reviewing and analyzing activities, costs, and operations. Assists towards the bidding process per state procurement mandates that do not comprise regulatory compliance protocols at any point within the process.

● Prepare reports required by management to draw comparisons between work expended and plan, to review milestones to provide project projections with customers and management for decision-making purposes.

● Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with governmental accounting and reporting to authorize payments to facilities accounts

● Ability to drive clarity and accountability in team operation while also establishing positive and

genuine relationships across the teams.
● Serve as a Crisis Management Team lead. Responds to emergency calls after hours or on weekends. Supports coordination of the emergency response and repairs that arise outside of normal working hours.

● Serves as a Resident Facility Coordinator
● Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
● Three (3) years of experience in general facilities operations, logistics, Building Trades

Technology and facilities supervision positions is required. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in management and staff supervision in a Facilities Services environment.

● One year of experience with working knowledge of facilities CMMS work order/maintenance software

● Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, situational negotiation, and conflict management skills.

● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with individuals and all levels in a team environment.

● Understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated working knowledge of accounting reports.

● Ability to effectively manage budgets, schedules, and correspondence.
● Google Suite and Microsoft Office Experience

Qualifications Preferred:
● College or equivalent advanced training to qualify for a Bachelor’s degree with a major in facilities management or business administration preferred.
● FM Certification
● Valid Colorado Driver’s License
